Hi, I am Jeanette
The author of How We Found a Cure for Addiction and the founder of JeanetteEvert.com, a space shaped by years of lived experience inside a relationship affected by addiction.

This work doesn’t come from theory or training.
It comes from living the reality, questioning everything I thought I knew, and discovering what actually creates change.
What you’ll find here is perspective, clarity, and guidance drawn from experience, offered with honesty, responsibility, and care.

Below, I share more of my story, but you can also get more specific detalis in the book or you can explore the three ways we offer guidance under
"Get Guidance".
My Story
For 13 years, I lived in a relationship shaped by addiction.

If you live the way I did, most of your mental energy is spent trying to understand why your life feels like chaos and who or what is responsible for it.
I was constantly searching for someone to blame.
My husband. The system. The professionals. My surroundings.
And, on the harder days, myself.
I lived there, in frustration, resentment, and the quiet resignation of accepting the labels handed to me:
co-dependent. enabler. co-addict.
Words that promise clarity, yet subtly freeze you in place.
They explain just enough to make sense, and just enough to stop real change from happening.
Unless you’ve lived beside addiction, it’s hard to grasp how completely this mindset traps you.
When everything in your life feels dictated by someone else’s struggle, responsibility seems to live everywhere but within you.
I was waiting for something outside of me to change.

What I couldn’t see then was that the shift wouldn’t come from better answers to the same questions.
It came from changing where I was looking from.
When I began to understand that consciousness shapes experience, and that by changing my inner state, I could step into an entirely different field of possibility, something fundamental opened.
From there, new realities became available.
Not as hope. Not as theory.
But as lived experience.

If this resonates, you’re welcome to reach out, or explore the book to go deeper.
